Course-wise I am doing modules with four different academic bodies: a module on pastoral theology through Anglia Ruskin University, Greek through the Cambridge Theological Federation, preparation for an MPhil in the Cambridge Divinity Faculty and the more practical side of things is done 'in house'. It's all rather confusing, and I'm never quite sure whether I am coming or going, but I will settle into a routine soon. Hopefully.
Community-wise there are many parallels to be drawn with life on Iona, coming together for the morning and evening offices, eating together and of course (sometimes to excess...) socialising together. The wider community is interesting too, the Cambridge Theological Federation (which comprises all the theological training institutes in the city) holds ecumenical services on a regular basis, the first of which was on Tuesday. Followed by an ecumenical disco. Which was as bizarre as it sounds.
Incidentally, pictured is how a Wescotian lays out their vestments before donning them. Not yet sure why.
